Delete your Duty Pals data
This page explains exactly what Duty Pals stores, how to delete it yourself, and how to ask us to delete anything left. See also the Privacy Policy.
1. Data stored only on your device
Your shift patterns, calendar, day-by-day overrides, notes, pay settings, reminders and app preferences live in the app's private database on your phone. We never receive them. Roster photos read by OCR are processed on-device and never uploaded.
How to delete: Android Settings β Apps β Duty Pals β Storage β Clear storage, or uninstall the app. Both remove this data immediately and permanently. Nothing needs to be requested from us.
2. Data stored in the cloud β only if you used team sync or community chat
If, and only if, you opened team sync or a community lounge, the app created an anonymous account (Firebase Authentication). No name, email or phone number is required to create it. Tied to that anonymous ID we store:
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Anonymous user ID | Firebase Authentication |
| Display name you typed for a team | teams/{team}/members |
| Shifts you chose to share with a team | teams/{team}/members |
| Chat messages, presence and mood status you posted | rooms/{room}/messages, rooms/{room}/presence |
| Reports you filed about a message | reports |
If you never opened those features, none of this exists and there is nothing to delete.
Delete some of it yourself, in the app
Leave a team β Team screen β Leave team. Your member record for that team, including the display name and the shifts you shared with it, is removed.
Community chat messages cannot yet be deleted from inside the app. Use the email request below and we will delete them for you.
Request full deletion by email
Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my data".
Because the account is anonymous, we hold no name, email or phone number that identifies you. To find your records, please include whichever of these you can:
- the team name or invite code you used, and roughly when you joined;
- the community lounge you posted in and the approximate dates;
- the display name you used there;
- the wording of one or two of your own messages.
What happens next
- We confirm receipt within 7 days.
- Once we have identified your records, we delete the anonymous account and every record listed above within 30 days.
- If the details you give us are not enough to identify your records with confidence, we will tell you what else we need rather than delete someone else's data.
- Deletion is permanent. A deleted team, message or shared schedule cannot be restored.
Retention: nothing listed above is kept after deletion, except abuse reports (reports), which we keep for up to 90 days after your request so that moderation decisions already taken can be audited, then delete. Server backups roll off within 30 days.
3. Advertising
Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID. We do not store it. Reset or delete it in Android Settings β Privacy β Ads.
4. Contact
[email protected] β data deletion requests and any privacy question.
